When I began A Friend of the Family in 1984, I had experience as a special education teacher, a preschool teacher and 10 years of being a stay-at-home mom raising 4 children. I had no business experience. I had never even worked in an office. What I did have was a passion for families in general and children in particular.
 
I value the family, in whatever form that looks like today. I created A Friend of the Family to be a support to you as a parent, a daughter or son or a granddaughter or grandson, so make your busy life a little less hectic, to provide the best possible care for those who are precious to you in the comfort of your home, to help you to be a better parent, daughter, son by taking the stress out of finding the care you expect for your loved ones.
 
I value our Caregivers.  I have great respect for those who have chosen to make caring for others their life' s work.   I respect them for their devotion to your family.   I want to assure that they are treated with dignity. We have pioneered setting high standards for our Caregivers in the industry. We take many steps to assure that they have been thoroughly qualified before referring them to you.   We offer continuing education about the latest thought in caring for children and adults. We instill in  them   a professional attitude and expect them to adhere to that highest ethical code.  
 
I value our highly skilled team of placement directors, recruitment directors and administrative staff who are here to assure that every experience you have with A Friend of the Family exceeds your expectations. I have had some members of our team be with us for 10, 15 and 20 years. They love helping you and our caregivers connect and find the right match for your family's own unique set of needs
 
I want to be sensitive to the changing needs for your family from new baby care, to childcare to afterschool care to housekeeping and house management to personal assistants to companion care. We are here for your family-for the life of your family.
 
Now I am the proud mother of four fabulous adult children and the overjoyed grandmother of 2, still working in the business but more behind the scene. I am still as passion about your family as I am about mine.
